How do I get email@example.com as an email?
You are going to want to login to where you have your domain registered. There are 2 ways to have an email account with your website in the email address. The first is to actually set up a mail server (it’s easier than it sounds – just click a few buttons with your registrar – or better yet, call them) and its done. Adding a mail server will also cost some money. That also means you will have to login to the registrar, and login to where you normally check email to get all your mail. Obviously, this can be simplified by using an email client like Microsoft Outlook. If you have over 10 employees, this IS the way to go, but for most small 1-5 man shops, you can get away with just using email “forwarders”.
With an email forwarder, all you do is specify what email you want your firstname.lastname@example.org email address to forward to. For example, if you have myname@gmail, and that is where you check all your email, you can have email@example.com automatically forward to myname@gmail and you only have to login and check your email in one place.
The beauty of it is that you can create firstname.lastname@example.org , email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org and have them all funnel to the same myname@gmail account and you only have to check email in on place. Just be sure to use the right outbound email address when you respond to those emails. Check out the video for all the info.
